About Darci

Production & Scenic Designer. Art Director. Storyteller.

I moved to Vancouver, British Columbia from the suburbs of Toronto, Ontario in 2016 with the goal of exploring Canada, and felt it in my bones that I had found a place in Canada where I could marry my artistic talents with a successful career in film or theatre. Here I found myself spending four years intensively studying theatre and film production at the University of British Columbia; where I expanded my skills in set dressing, construction, props mastering, art direction, scenic and production design.

I have had a driving passion for art as long as I can remember and I've grown into having a passion for creating beautiful spaces. I believe that the way a space is designed is massively important for conveying a story or brand, whether this space be theatre, film, restaurant, or home. Giving people a unique experience from what they see in their everyday life is what draws them in.

The idea of creating worlds that did not exist before excites me, it allows me the freedom of expression. I like working in collaboration with other crew members, a family of creatives in a supporting environment. Sometimes work can be stressful, so as my stress relief I go on hikes and do yoga. My other big love is for our planet, I aspire to always design with sustainable practices. To see more work, check out the portfolio page.
